One Health and antimicrobial stewardship: A multisectoral approach to prevent the emerging epidemic of antimicrobial resistance

Up to 4,150,000 deaths in Africa are estimated to be attributable to antimicrobial resistance by 2050. Speakers in this session are carefully selected to represent the different sectors in the One-Health approach to promote antimicrobial stewardship and prevent antimicrobial resistance. The speakers include experts in human health, animal health, socio-behavioral science, AMR diagnostics, crop epidemiology and fisheries National One Health policies, data science and mathematical modelling, and capacity building for sustainable antimicrobial stewardship.
